Eleanor Fay :: ONE YEAR!

Ellie Fay!

You're one! As I write this you're actually 14 months, but I'm thankful for some time to finally sit down and write this.

We didn't throw you a big birthday bash, but we had lots of cupcakes and balloons which you absolutely loved. In true Eleanor fashion you smeared icing all over my face and laughed so much about it ;)

This past year has been FULL and you have added so much joy, laughter, and love to our life. You make me belly-laugh at least once a day which is really, really great for my soul. Thanks so much for that.

By your first birthday you were smitten with baby dolls and stuffed animals. You cannot go to sleep without a baby doll and stuffed animal in your crib which is the total opposite of your sister when she was your age. I absolutely love how different you girls are. It reminds me just how unique God truly makes us.

You love necklaces and dress-up. I feel like you're so young to even understand dress up, but you totally get it. You'll go to the dress up bin, pull something out, bring it to me or Dad and hold it up, making noises until we put it on you. Seconds after we get the tutu on you you're off to the mirror to check out what you look like. It cracks me up and melts my heart all in one!

Placing clothes on your head (legitimately on your head to where you can't see) and walking around is a hobby of yours. Along with trying to break into the bathroom to get your hands in the toilet-bowl water or into the kitchen to empty the recycling bin contents all over the floor. We stay quite busy with you!

I'm so thankful for you and all that you bring to our world. I can't wait to see what life is like as you get older (I'm really excited for you to really start talking because I'm so curious as to what you're thinking all the time!) and especially what it will look like for you to be a big sister! I think you're going to love it. You and your little sister will be just about 16 months apart--all you Pursley girls are so close in age and as challenging and exhausting as it is right now I'm truly thankful this is our story. I pray you girls will be great friends for the rest of your lives.

So Ellie Fay, you're one. It has been a challenging, full, and joyous first year with you. You're a tough-cookie and I love every bit of you! Thanks for making me laugh and pushing me to trust God more and keep my eyes fixed on Jesus. You're an amazing little girl and I love being your momma.

Happy first birthday, Eleanor Fay. I love you SO much!

Love you always,

Momma
