Sybil Jane :: two months

sybie girl,

two whole months! you're cooing and smiling and oh my goodness my heart is overwhelmed by you. you are a big, healthy girl and i'm so thankful! we had your two-month check up a little while ago and you weighed 12 lbs 10 oz--70th percentile in weight and 96th percentile in height (!).

people ask how it's going with you and honestly you are a super easy baby--you definitely have your fussy moments, but they are few and far between. having three kiddos three and under is not so easy though, ha! so i am beyond thankful for your sweet, easy-going manner in the midst of lots of craziness in our home! ellie fay turned 18 months this past month + hazel turned three in may--i'm beginning to see their friendship really take off and it makes me so excited and grateful we had y'all so close together, but it is challenging right now for sure.

your sisters adore you so much--i'm not sure if an hour passes without hazel saying, "she's so cute!" or eleanor coming over to give you a kiss and rub your head. i love your sweet cuddles and your big smile. in the morning when i unzip your sleep sack you smile SO big and it makes me feel like my heart will burst out of my chest every time. you are incredibly loved, little one!

this past month we made a quick, last-minute trip down to VA + NC. you met lots of family for the first time! we also bought a mini-van! crazy as i never thought we'd own a car if we lived in the city, but it just makes sense for where we're at in life right now. i'm so thankful for it as we've already been out of the city and grocery shopping is so much easier! it really is such a gift.

some things i want to remember:

eating
-you've been a champ at breastfeeding since day one. you're also taking a bottle (you took one for the first time around one-month)--I think it took you a little bit to get it, but you're doing so great! i pumped 200 oz of milk the first two weeks of your life (crrrrazy!) so we have quite a supply! yay!

sleeping
-i don't want to jinx anything, but you're a great sleeper! naps are tough because your sisters love to wake you up :) we just re-did hazel + e's room though so you have hazel's old crib now! hazel has a loft bed and e is underneath in her crib for now. all that to say, you have a real crib now so i'm hoping sleeping during the day will be a little easier soon. we'll see :) night time sleep is amazing though! you wake up once to eat--this past week you did a 9pm-5am stretch! incredible! i do better if you don't sleep right next to me though--i'm a very light sleeper and wake up to any little noise you make  so your dad has been sleeping with you out in the living room (you have an amazing dad who loves you SO much!). keep up the good sleeping, little one!

temperament
you're so laid back, sweet, and calm. :)

physical
-dark eyes--they look gray/brown
-SO much hair! so much! there's an old wives tale: if the baby has lots of hair the mama will have lots of heartburn during pregnancy...with you and hazel i had terrible heartburn. worse with you--i had to sleep sitting up for the last month of my pregnancy with you! and i hardly had any with e who hardly had any hair when she born. so i may be a believer of that tale!
-12 lbs 10 oz
-70th percentile in weight and 96th percentile in height
-we just put you in size 2 diapers!

there are no words for just how much i love you. i was talking with friends last night about how overwhelmed/scared i was when we found out we were pregnant with you and now i cannot imagine our family without you. you are such a sweet, sweet gift to us. i love being your mama and in so many ways you are a reminder of grace in my life.

i love you, sybil jane.

always,

mama
