Sybil Jane :: One Year!

You're ONE!

What a beautifully crazy year this has been, sweet girl.

I'm writing this the night before your birthday and your dad is currently out finding you a balloon at 9pm because we had a miscommunication about when the said balloon was supposed to be bought.

After we tucked y'all into bed (it was an extra challenging night with you girls at bedtime!) we sat down to talk and I told your dad I was sad you wouldn't have a balloon until the afternoon.

We went back and forth about how it really is fine. You're just turning one...you wont even remember!

But your dad could tell I really wanted you to have something in the morning even though we're going to celebrate together as a family later in the day.

He asked me what it was about having something--even something as small as a balloon--in the morning and I said, "I want each of them to feel so special on their birthday. So celebrated as soon as they wake up in the morning."

"I want that too," He said and now he's out finding you a balloon that you wont remember, but I'll take a picture so that when you read this one day you can see that balloon. ;)

Life is definitely a little nuts these days. Tomorrow you'll be one, Eleanor is two, and Hazel is three.

Crazy! It's so fun and so exhausting and I wouldn't change it for anything.

Your personality brings a great deal of calmness to our family and I'm so grateful for that.

Your smile, laugh, and cuddles bring a joy that I cannot fully express.

To say you have been an easy baby is an understatement. You sleep, eat like a champ, and go-with-the-flow daily.

Thank you, thank you, thank you.

You are so incredibly loved! Your sisters gush over you all the time--they greet you when you wake up, tickle you, hold you, give you their snacks, and think everything you do is, "so cute!"

I feel like I could go on and on about how much we love you and what a gift you are to our family.

You are loved and we cannot wait to celebrate you tomorrow sweet one.

Tonight as I think back to this time last year my heart is overwhelmed with praise to God.

His plan, his timing, his creating.

You are a gift from the Lord, Sybie girl. You are so special.

Your dad just walked in the door with a big pink balloon in the shape of the number 1.

It has Minnie Mouse on it with polka dots. (He also bought each of your sisters a pink balloon.) You have a really sweet dad who loves you girls so very much.

What a gift this life is.

Happy first birthday Sybil Jane! You're one!

I love you so incredibly much.

Always,

 Mama

Sybil Jane :: Eleven Months

Sybie Girl!

You turn O N E in less than a month! Holy Moly!

I've just spent the last ten minutes looking back at old posts about you and reminiscing on this past year. What a ride it's been, little one!

You're sleeping great, eating great, and moving around a ton!

This past month we left you and your sisters with Grandma + Pawpaw and then with Gigi while your dad and I flew across the world to India! That feels crazy typing it. (It felt crazy doing it too.)

Aunt Mary came up to help Gigi out too which y'all loved :)

I think it was way harder on me and your dad than it was on y'all + it's safe to say coming home to you girls was the favorite thing about our trip! (We did like the extra sleep and alone time as well ;)

Some things I want to remember from this month:

-How cuddly you are. You love all the snuggles and will crawl over, plop yourself in my lap and wrap your arms around my neck. It makes me melt. After nap you'll snuggle into my neck and rest for just a bit longer. I absolutely love your sweet cuddles, baby girl.

-Your laugh! This isn't only from this month--but man, your laugh is so contagious. We all love it!

-You are in a pulling-all-the-books-off-the-shelf stage. You think it's hilarious and necessary to do daily.

-You love when your sisters chase you (while crawling) down the hallway. Lots of giggles ensue!

-"Goodnight to Sybie" is now a part of your sisters bedtime routine--lots of kisses and hugs before bed. You are still our best sleeper currently. Typically when we place you in the crib you are asleep before we walk out of the room after saying goodnight to your sisters.

-Swinging at the playground! You LOVE it! We go to the playground often, but I always keep you in the carrier--mostly because keeping up with your sisters is enough for me! But I realized when we were there the other day that you're really not a tiny baby anymore and put you in the swing (I totally could've done this months ago--sorry about that!) and you laughed so much! We all loved pushing you in the swing and laughing along with you!

-Everyday life with you, yours sisters, our family is my favorite thing.

I love you, little one! We cannot wait to celebrate your first birthday in just a few weeks!

You are so special. We love you so much!

Always,

Mama
